FACT #24
A soundtrack album is any album that incorporates music
directly recorded from the soundtrack of a particular feature film or
television show. The first such album to be commercially released was Walt
Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the soundtrack to the film of the
same name, in 1938.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the soundtrack to the 1937
Walt Disney film, was the first commercially issued film soundtrack. It was
released in January 1938 as Songs from Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs (with the Same Characters and Sound Effects as in the Film of That
Title) and has since seen numerous expansions and reissues.
